Gun Vault HQ ("the App") is a personal firearm and ammunition management tool. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have.
2. Information We Collect
2a. Information You Enter
When you use Gun Vault HQ, you may enter information about:
- Firearms you own (make, model, caliber, serial number, storage location, condition)
- Ammunition inventory (caliber, brand, quantity)
- Shooting activities (date, location, guns used, rounds fired, notes)
- Maintenance records (cleaning type, products used)
This information is stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage (a secure, on-device data store). It is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly choose to use the Wall (community feed) feature.
2b. Wall / Community Feature
If you choose to create a Wall account and share posts:
- We collect your email address (used for authentication only)
- You choose a username and avatar letter (displayed publicly)
- Posts you share (activity type, location, story text, guns mentioned) are stored on our servers (Supabase) and visible to other Wall users
Your email address is never displayed publicly and is used solely for account authentication.
2c. Information We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect:
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Location data (location fields in the app are text you type manually)
- Usage analytics or crash reports (unless added via a third-party SDK)
- Payment information
3. How We Use Your Information
- Local firearm, ammo, and activity data is used to display your records within the app.
- Your email address (Wall account) is used for authentication via Supabase only.
- Wall posts are displayed in the community feed.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
4. Data Storage & Security
Local data (Arsenal, Ammo, Activities) is stored exclusively on your device. Gun Vault HQ does not have access to this data unless you export a backup.
Wall account data is stored on Supabase, a third-party backend platform. Supabase employs industry-standard security practices including encryption at rest and in transit.
You may set a PIN to prevent unauthorized access to the app on your device.
5. Data Sharing
We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
- Supabase — solely for Wall account authentication and community post storage.
- As required by law — if compelled by a valid legal process.
6. Your Rights & Choices
- Delete local data: Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data.
- Delete your Wall account: Contact us to request deletion of your Wall account and all associated data.
- Opt out of the Wall: The Wall feature is entirely optional. You can use all other features of Gun Vault HQ without creating an account.
7. Children's Privacy
Gun Vault HQ is rated 18+ and is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes by updating the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
